Other incisions are usually made in the front and back area of the ears, and the same process is repeated in each area individually, according to the amount of skin present and the degree of tightening required. The operation usually takes approximately 2 - 3.5 hours. Finally, the face is covered with an elastic bandage at the end of the procedure, and the surgeon sometimes leaves one or several drain tubes to drain fluid and blood remnants from the tissues.

After the process is completed

In most cases, the patient will be kept in the hospital for 24 hours after the facelift operation. To ensure the stability of his condition, he must refrain from tightening or bending the neck and using the facial muscles in the first days after the operation. The bandage is removed within days, and swelling can occur under the skin, but it usually disappears within two weeks. The patient's recovery takes approximately ten days, and there is no need to remove the stitches, as they are naturally absorbed. Many factors influence the results of a facelift, including skin thickness, skin type, and elasticity, in addition to the patient's age. The recovery rate varies from person to person, and the final result of a facelift is often seen several weeks and even months after the operation.

• Not to tamper with the crusts that may form in the places of the wounds.
• Check with the doctor when you can start using different shampoos, soaps, cosmetics, and hair dye.
• Avoid using make-up.
• Wear clothing that opens from the front rather than clothing that must be passed over your head.
• Avoid violent activities and sports that may increase pressure on your face.
• Avoid exposure to the sun during the three weeks following the facelift surgery, and always use sunscreen with a protection factor of 30+ or more.
• Avoid hair coloring for at least six weeks.
