Professor Mohammad Hossein Mandegar is a renowned cardiovascular surgeon and Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. With more than 38 years of clinical, academic, and surgical experience, he is recognized as one of the pioneers of modern cardiac surgery in Iran.
Professor Mandegar performed the first successful heart transplant in Iran in 1993 and played a key role in establishing and developing heart and lung transplantation programs in the country. His expertise includes coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve repair and replacement, congenital heart surgery, major vessel surgery, and advanced cardiac procedures.
Throughout his distinguished career, he has trained numerous cardiac surgeons, contributed to medical education and research, and participated in advanced international cardiovascular surgery programs at leading medical centers worldwide. His achievements in cardiac surgery and transplantation have made him one of the most respected figures in cardiovascular surgery in Iran.
